Nica Celly is an expanded practice artist exploring consciousness through word and form.

Her current work investigates the subtle architectures of attention through social and collaborative projects that activate breath and body as sites of discovery.

Nica Celly (b. Nicole Markoff)'s work has evolved from a practice of textiles and design into social practice and writing projects that investigate the subtle architectures of attention, and the emergent narratives waiting just beyond the surface.

The land and the body serve as her most reliable sources of truth, as open fields where language, movement, and perception converge into new currencies of understanding. From a practiced nondual perspective, Nica approaches art making as both inquiry and offering. She currently teaches and facilitates experiences from breath and movement to words and writing. She holds an MFA in Textiles from California College of the Arts and a 1008-hour certification in yoga with Janet Stone. Residencies include the Jentel Foundation, Brush Creek, UCross, Headlands Center for the Arts, and the Vermont Studio Center.

Nica maintains her practice and collaborates with her community in Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, Mexico and West County Sonoma, California.
